The Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) is a public degree-awarding university and premier research think-tank in Islamabad. Founded in 1957 and granted degree-awarding status in 2006, PIDE is Pakistan's leading centre for economics, econometrics, public policy and development studies. Through its School of Economics and School of Policy, Development and Governance, PIDE offers MPhil, MS and PhD programmes taught by internationally trained faculty, and is renowned for its policy research, the Annual General Meeting of economists, and its influence on national economic policy.
